We proudly comply with CITES (the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora). This global convention is administered by the United Nations Environmental Program (UNEP), which oversees the CITES Secretariat located in Geneva, Switzerland.

Every single bracelet we craft is meticulously inspected by wildlife authorities, and a unique CITES document is issued for that specific piece. This document is your undeniable proof that the hair was obtained legally and that all procedures comply flawlessly with international law.

The South African Certification Journey

In our home province of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, the regulatory body responsible for protecting our wildlife and issuing these permits is Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife (operating with the same strict authority as the US Fish and Wildlife Service).

To ensure absolute transparency, the certification of your bracelet follows a rigorous, multi-stage process:

  • Data Capture: The exact details of the exporter, the importer, and the specific specifications of the bracelet to be shipped are securely entered into the government system.

  • Verification: This critical information is thoroughly checked and vetted by our dedicated handler at the local Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife offices.

  • Permit Approval: Once the official CITES permit is approved and uploaded, all documentation related to the shipment is forwarded directly to the BMA (Border Management Authority) Inspectors to request a formal physical inspection.

  • Physical Inspection: During this dedicated appointment, the physical bracelet and all accompanying documents are meticulously inspected and officially signed off by the authorities.

  • Global Clearance: This finalized, stamped document accompanies your package, ensuring that international customs agencies have exactly what they need to clear the delivery into your country seamlessly.
