White Elephant Hair Bracelets
No animal was harmed in the collection of the elephant hair used to make these bracelets. The hair is collected along trails used by the elephants and at water holes. Permission is obtained from various authorities to collect the hair.
Each bracelet is inspected by the Fish and Wildlife authorities and a Cites document is issued for that bracelet. The cites document proves that the hair was obtained legally and that all procedures comply with international laws.
CITES (the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora) is administered internationally by ,United Nations Environmental Program (UNEP) which oversees the CITES Secretariat located in Geneva, Switzerland.
White elephant hair is extremely rare. Less than 0.1% of hair is white. These bracelets are extremely unique in their own right. Every once in a while, someone asks us if these come from white elephants... Unfortunately, there is no such thing as a white elephant, just a white elephant hair.
Collectors from all over the world purchase these bracelets because the white elephant hair is no longer available. We still have a few white elephant hairs left. Remember though, we haven’t been able to replenish our stocks in 5 years.
