Very Bulky bracelets
No animal was harmed in the collection of the elephant hair used to make these bracelets. The hair is collected along trails used by the elephants and at water holes. Permission is obtained from various authorities to collect the hair.
Each bracelet is inspected by the Fish and Wildlife authorities and a Cites document is issued for that bracelet. The cites document proves that the hair was obtained legally and that all procedures comply with international laws.
CITES (the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora) is administered internationally by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), which oversees the CITES Secretariat located in Geneva, Switzerland.
These elephant hair bracelets are made up with many hairs. Most of the bracelets are very unique because of either the thickness or the color of the hair. Very thick elephant hair is extremely rare to come by. These bracelets are much sought after by collectors.
